CARMEN for children's ears!

How do you turn a tragic opera full of jealousy and drama into a playful story for children?

Opera Caramba!, with a.o. Tineke Van Ingelgem, does it with a Dutch-language adaptation, with a lot of humor and with Spanish flair (including paella) on the happiest melodies from Bizet's masterpiece.

For example, Carmen is catapulted more than 200 years ahead into today's environment — with a touch of drama.

Opera Caramba! is a traveling opera company that brings opera tailored to children throughout Flanders.

 

The show made and played by professional singers, musicians and theater makers.

They rewrote  well-known operas (Carmen, La Traviata, the Magic Flute) into contemporary, fun Dutch-language children's versions, in which children can actively participate.
